Teens and young adults everywhere are going crazy for any unicorn branded item. It’s so popular that coffee giant Starbucks has stepped into the game with a new Frappuccino. You can grab the Unicorn Frappuccino from now until supplies last.
My teen was so excited we set alarms to wake up super early during spring break to go grab the drink. She absolutely had to have the largest size. We brought it home and I was able to snap this one photo before she devoured it.
While the original flavors and color-changing magic delighted my 13-year-old, the sourness of the blue sprinkles up her off and she ended up not finishing the drink. She does enjoy sour candies. Mixed with the extreme sweetness of the rest of the drink the sprinkles proved to be too much.
We wanted to pair the drink with our first teen recipe today on the blog. Addie has been using this Delish Unicorn Ice Cream recipe to try some variations of her own.
You can use this recipe and change the extract, colors, and sprinkles to make it your own. Addie likes to substitute rum extract in place of the vanilla, or even mint and add nuts and other savories to the mix.
Head to Starbucks and grab your own Unicorn Frappuccino and the ingredients for the Unicorn Ice Cream and let us know how you like them! It may prove too sweet to pair together. In that case you’ll have a sweet frozen treat for later that you made yourself for after school.
If you love to read and want a book to pair with all your sugary treats try Zombies Vs. Unicorns and choose your side to root for in this epic showdown.
Adisyn and I would love to hear your thoughts and any requests for future posts and recipes.
